WILD WORLD
Planet earth is an extraordinarily nice place on which to live. Most of us would agree this is so. But it does have some problems & issues.
It seems that at present there are about 7 billion (7.046) billion people living here. And this number increases by 82 million people each year (that’s a 1.2% gain each year). Wow. Big wow! Huge numbers. OK. There is not a whole lot we can do about this.
But in addition to the large homo sapiens population, there are countless (thousands & thousands) of species of flora and wild fauna which live here also – in the earth, on it, in the oceans, and above it.
The flora species are not doing too badly. But many of the wild fauna species are having a pretty hard time of it. And of course they are having a hard time of it because of you & me – (the humans). We have created - habitat loss, pollution, diminishing water supply & quality, poaching, global warming, and so on.
There are so many magnificent wild creatures (of all sizes, shapes, & types) living on Mother Earth. Just look at some of these pictures of some of the bigger & more majestic ones. We need to help, keep, & protect them. Soooo, what’s the deal? What can we do? Obviously those reading this web site are animal lovers. And we animal lovers are an important (and large) group of folks. We need to try to do things to help our fauna friends (flora also).
Many of us have been making efforts along these lines and of all sorts over the years. And many of us continue to do so now. We need to keep ourselves informed. Knowledge is power.
Read & join good organizations. Some of us contribute to a wide array of good, solid organizations which try to make a difference.
We need to make good choices and recommendations in our own communities. In conversation and endeavor, we ought to promote animal protection. And we need to consider animals and the environment when we humans seek to expand in all sorts of ways.
And sometimes our efforts and recommendations are not in our own best economic interests. That’s OK. But we need to stand up, be counted, and make a difference. If you and I do not care, then maybe no one will care. It’s up to you and me. We can make a difference.
