AMERICAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION (AAHA)
We are an AAHA-accredited practice. That means we are accredited by AAHA - the American Animal Hospital Association. We have worked hard to achieve and to maintain this distinction and honor. We are very proud of this accomplishment. AAHA strives toward excellence in small animal care.
To be accredited by AAHA, a hospital must demonstrate an exceptional level of medical care and client service.
We have been an AAHA- accredited practice for the past 32 years. We are one of only a couple of AAHA-accredited practices in Hunterdon County – and we are by far the oldest.
History & Background
AAHA was founded in 1933 by 7 forward thinking leaders of the veterinary profession from across the country who was convinced there was a need to provide better facilities and methods in small animal practice than were generally available at the time. Interestingly one of these taught and mentored Dr. Wayne, and he once visited us here at Countryside.
That mission has grown and morphed over time to promote excellence and the highest quality of companion animal veterinary care. AAHA is respected internationally for its dedication to professional development, for its hospital accreditation standards, and for the excellence of its educational programs. AAHA-accredited practices are now recognized across the world as having made a commitment to meeting the highest standards of veterinary care.
Throughout the United States and Canada, AAHA is the only organization which accredits companion animal hospitals. The accreditation is voluntary. Only 15% of all the companion animal practices in the United States and Canada have made this voluntary commitment to excellence.

Standards of Accreditation
The AAHA Standards of Accreditation are widely used as benchmarks to measure excellence in veterinary medicine. Our hospital has been successfully evaluated by an AAHA practice consultant on approximately 900 standards that directly correlate to the standard of care we are providing your pet. The accreditation and evaluation is not a onetime event accomplished in/by some passive fashion. Instead, accreditation involves and requires an extensive and vigorous on-site evaluation. This extensive evaluation is repeated on-site every 3 years in order to maintain current accreditation. Being an accredited hospital these past 26 years, we have successfully passed many inspections and evaluations over the years.
We Are Proud
Our team at Countryside is most proud to be an AAHA-accredited practice, to be one of few AAHA-accredited practices in Hunterdon County, and to have been so accredited for the past 30 years. www.healthypet.com
