PAIN MANAGEMENT
Pain management is something we take very seriously here. We strive to prevent and treat pain at all times. Recent advances in the understanding of pain in animals have increased our awareness for the need for high quality patient pain management. Pain management is not only good & caring medicine, but it also helps your pet to heal more quickly and satisfactorily.
We administer analgesics (pain medications) during your pet’s stay as necessary to assure that your pet is as comfortable as possible. Providing quality pain management also means that additional pain medication may be dispensed for use when your pet goes home.
DENTISTRY
About 80% of dogs & cats beyond the age of one year have dental disease. Dental disease is important because the ‘goo’ (bacteria & immune complexes) from periodontal disease travel to cause disease elsewhere in the body – particularly kidney, but also lung, heart, & prostate.
Procedures include: scaling & polishing, exractions, and gingivectomy/gingiviplasty.

INTRADERMAL SKIN TESTING (IDST)
- we do this
- uncommon to find this performed outside of a university or dermatology specialty practice
- we prefer this to allergy blood testing (called in vitro)
- we make our own allergy vaccines.

IMAGING - RADIOLOGY
We do a fair amount of diagnostic radiology and contrast procedures, especially with urinary & bladder disease/problems.
IMAGING - ULTRASOUND
- we use a travelling ultrasound service
- we telephone them, and they come here at our place
- a 3 person procedure:
- the ultrasound doc (a specialist)
- Dr. Wayne
- A Countryside technician
- the ultrasound doc (a specialist)
ENDOSCOPY

ANESTHESIA

- during each anesthetic procedure
HOSPITALIZATION
- 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year (365 days/ year)

BOARDING
- cats
- dogs
- all of our dog visitors are walked outside multiple times per day in our large outside fenced where they can do some romping & experience high quality outside time
- small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs)
We only board for CVH clients. That way we know the patients, they are up to date on vaccinations, & we are not bringing in potentially hidden/unknown infectious disease. In this way patients with contagious problems do not board here.
PUPPY DAY CARE
- great puppy socialization
- we usually take only 1 pup (or sometimes 2) each day.
- the pup stays out front with the receptionist & meets lots of people
SOMETHING ELSE YOU NEED, REQUIRE, OR WOULD LIKE
- we will do it, if we possibly can.
